Kairos Coaching for Holistic Healing with Shannan
About the Founder: A Legacy of Healing and Transformation
Hello and welcome to a place of healing and hope! My name is Shannan, and I am the founder of Kairos Coaching. My journey as a healer began over 30 years ago (yep, I’m THAT old!), with a deep desire to offer traditional psychotherapy and then realizing it wasn’t quite enough.
Given that realization…I’ve spent decades navigating my own path of healing, exploring the ever-present dance of integrating body, mind, heart, and soul into a symphony of self-trust and empowerment that I readily share now with others.
The Catalyst for Change
A major pivot of my life and career came amidst the global trauma of the pandemic, facing isolation, loneliness, and fear. It was then that I experienced the profound power of holistic and somatic healing firsthand. A transformative retreat with somatic equine therapy opened my eyes to the depth of healing possible when we embrace and heal our whole selves, centering first in the body, not treat isolated symptoms. This became the cornerstone of Kairos Coaching and the work I am so passionate about today.
Uniquely Qualified to Guide
My professional background is as rich and varied as the clients I serve. With over three decades as a psychotherapist, I bring a wealth of experience and empathy to my coaching. My certifications in The Safe & Sound Protocol, EMDR, anxiety treatment, and as an eating disorder specialist (CEDS), alongside my personal healing journey, provide a unique blend of expertise and real-world application. This fusion of personal experience and professional excellence sets me apart, offering a coaching experience grounded in authenticity and transformative healing. I strive to “keep it real,” and I “walk the walk” with you! I believe that sharing the strength and hope from my own struggles in healing is a powerful tool in breaking down the barriers of the traditional provider-client relationship to foster a more authentic, empowering experience.
A Style Rooted in Compassion
My coaching style is a reflection of my values: openness, humor, realism, and compassion. I believe in the power of authenticity and autonomy, creating a safe space for you to explore, grow, and ultimately find strength and wisdom within yourself. It’s not just about making changes; it’s about making changes that last in a way that’s right and true for you in a way you can sustain long-term.
Transformative Journeys
One of the most inspiring aspects of my work is witnessing the tangible changes in my clients’ lives. Seeing a client move from a place of self-doubt to one of self-assurance and worth is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a reminder of why I embarked on this journey: to empower women to live their lives fully, authentically, and with unwavering self-trust.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey and Kairos Coaching. I am honored to walk this path with you, offering guidance, support, and a community as we navigate the journey of healing together.

Skills include: DBT, CBT, EMDR, and SSP to resolve self-doubt, depression, anxeity, or trauma wounds and build self-trust and intuition. $165-$250/session.
Modalities & Skills used in 1:1 Sessions and Coaching Memberships
DBT/CBT – I’m intensively trained using these evidence-based behavioral frameworks. CBT explores the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions while DBT adds to that a skills-acquisition approach using 5 practical modules.
EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitizaiton Reprocessing therapy is a trauma resolution treatment based on activating both hemispheres of the brain or “bilateral stimulation” (BLS). BLS has been demonstrated to assist in reducing “big” emotional disturbance in assocation with traumatic events.
Somatic Psychotherapy – blending somatic or body-based tools, concepts, and techniques alongside traditional talk therapy.
The Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) – based on Polyvagal theory, this is a non-invasive and gentle way to stimulate the vagus nerve to increase a sense of safety, decrease auditory sensitivity, and improve emotional resilience through calming the central nervous system.
How I Help You: Self-Doubt & Trauma Resolution
Common trauma responses include high levels of self-doubt, mistrust, fear, perceived threat, seeking to control to feel safe, disconnection, “not knowing how I feel,” with more serious experiences being nightmares, flashbacks, avoidance of thinking about or recalling trauma experiences, intense emotional/psychological or physiological symptoms when “triggered.”
I’ll help you build coping skills to reduce self-doubt and build self-trust. This will help you manage these expeiences in more healthy and effective ways so you can experience less intense responses, or even “notice” the trigges and not feel “out of it.”
If traumatic experiences feels like the title of your book of life, we’ll work together to make it only a chapter.
How I Help You: Religious Trauma Recovery
Religious trauma is the physical, emotional, or psychological response to religious beliefs, practices, or structures that overwhelms an individual’s ability to cope or return to baseline safety and stability.
High-demand religious organizations (churches and cults) are toxic in that the require ‘obedience’ to restrictive behaviors using shame and guilt. This can have lasting influences on psychological, social, and sexual development.
I will walk with you through the ‘deconstruction’ process of unpacking these beliefs and practices and how “outsourcing” worth and value” hurt you, so you gain understanding and insight into their impact. I’ll also support the rebuilding or ‘reconstruction’ process identifying your personal values, beliefs, goals, wants, thoughts, and opinions to reclaim yourself.
How I Help You: Self-trust & Inner Child Healing, Depression, Anxiety
Our “inner child” is that part of us which houses all our unmet childhood needs, wounds, core beliefs, and subconscious thoughts. This happens because our critical thinking brains weren’t fully developed yet, but our emotional/survival brain was and stored these experiences. This is why you might say, “I know (xyz) isn’t true, but it just feels that way.” This helps us understand how our inner child experiences are primarily emotional, not logical and can create feelings of guilt, shame, and intense self-doubt.
Unresolved childhood wounds are rooted in self-doubt, emotional neglect and uncertainty and lead to both depression and anxiety as both are processes of disconnection. If anxious, we learned to disconnect from overwhelming feelings or emotions, and instead began to overthink, over-solve, over-anticiate every possible scenario to ‘be prepared’ or ‘be safe.’ If depressed, we maybe felt far too overwhelmed to do all that prep and instead dropped into disconnection from people, withdrawal from activitites, hopelessness, and a sense of worthlessness.
I help by providing support with “reparenting” the inner child and building self-trust thorugh emotional processing skills, visualizations, and somatic (body-based) techniques. Over time, you’ll learn how to feel whole, compassioante, and connected to that younger version of yourself.

What They Say
Shannan is a really unique coach in that she’s also a therapist of 30 years. She brings such in-depth insight, guidance and support – it’s amazing! I didn’t think I could really sustain healing until I worked with her – don’t wait a minute longer!
My only regret is that I didn’t find this type of a healing process when I was younger and raising my children. I know healing is always possible, and I’m grateful I’ve learned these steps so I can share them with my grown children. Such a game-changer!
My healing happens at moments I least expect, and this type of a process helped me recognize those moments more clearly and establish a sustainable healing LIFESTYLE – she’s not wrong when she talks about how different that is than just going to therapy to learn isolated skills. Such a whole-person approach – I LOVE IT!
